Explore Togean Island with Locals

Indonesia is indeed surrounded by many islands. Almost of all major regions of Indonesia are adorned with small islands adjacent to the vast land. Therefore, there are so many hidden treasures. One of these Togean Island and probably there are others that have not been touched by humans. However, as time goes on and due to the backpacker phenomenon in Indonesia, new tourist destinations began to emerge and become a warm discussion among us.

1. Togean Island

Marine tourism becomes the main attraction of Togean Island. On this island there is a village called the village of Katupat. In the village we can see beautiful coastal scenery or trekking into its stunning jungle. Morover, on Togean Island, we can also enjoy the hillside views that divide Tomini Bay. Some activities we can do on Togean Island, including fishing, sailing, and of course diving while enjoying the beauty of the underwater. This can be done almost in all islands in the Togean Islands.

2. Kadidiri Island

The second is Kadidiri Island. This is a paradise for you who likes snorkeling and diving activities. The island provides incredible views of coral reefs. In fact, just by walking on the edge of the beach alone, we can already see the underwater wealth of Kadidiri Island because this beach is very clean. For those of you who want to enjoy deeper coral reefs, you can rent a kayak to get around or go by a speedboat as far as 16 kilometers to the location of the B-24 which is a former relic of World War II. Surely this will provide a unique traveling experience for you. You can explore the wreckage in the depths of the sea! Please do not forget to keep the beach clean.

3. Una-una Island

Una-Una Island has an active volcano. We can hike to the beautiful crater of the mountain.  The unique of this island is a beach that has a blend of two colors, the combination of black and white. This happened due to the eruption of Mount Colo in a couple centuries ago, resulted in resulted in the mixing of beach sand with the volcanic material. The sand of the beach becomes whitish black

In addition, we can enjoy the sunset and sunrise while relaxing around this beach. This is a fascinating place to relax, not to mention many cool photo spots to add to your Instagram feeds. 

4. Mariona Lake

Strange but true, there is an island with a lake in the middle. Yes, that is Lake Moriana, which is one of the must-visit destinations when we are in Togean Islands National Park. This lake provides a rare sight. We can swim while accompanied by jellyfish! Do not be afraid, because this is a jellyfish that does not sting, so you can swim with this animal without fear of being stung.

In Indonesia, there are only 3 lakes that have this stingless jellyfish. One of them is Lake Mariona, the other two are Kakaban Lake in Derawan Island, East Kalimantan, and Lake Lenmakana in Misool, Raja Ampat. Obviously, this will be a very rare experience
